Gel electrophoresis is a simple technique that allows chemical species (nucleic acids or proteins) to be separated along an electric field based on their size and electrical charge. Nucleic acids, DNA and RNA, are naturally negatively charged. If we place fragments of DNA extracted from a biological sample on a porous support (agarose gel) and apply an electric field, differential migration of the fragments through the pores of the matrix will occur.
This basic equipment consists of: 7 x 10 cm electrophoresis cuvette, power supply (75 / 150 V for 1 or 2 cuvettes), fixed volume micropipette and rack of 96 pipette tips.
By purchasing this equipment you can choose as a gift a kit from one of the following ref.: 31702, 31704, 31705 or 31706.
